We’re looking for an experienced Principal Engineer – Overhead Lines (OHL) to join a growing team delivering major infrastructure projects across the UK and Europe.You’ll play a key role in high-profile energy projects including HV overhead lines (up to 400kV), substations, HVDC interconnectors, and energy storage systems—contributing directly to the energy transition.
What You’ll Be Doing✔ Leading FEED & detailed design for OHL projects✔ Managing HV/EHV OHL design (11kV–400kV)✔ Delivering complex design solutions including line routing & transitions✔ Ensuring compliance with UK HSE, CDM & industry standards✔ Working closely with multidisciplinary teams & stakeholders✔ Supporting team growth and improving design processes
What We’re Looking For🔹 10+ years’ experience in OHL design (132kV–400kV)🔹 Strong knowledge of UK transmission & distribution standards (National Grid/DNO)🔹 Degree qualified (or equivalent experience – HNC/HND considered)🔹 Chartered or working towards (IET preferred)🔹 Proficiency in tools like PLS-CADD🔹 Strong leadership & stakeholder management skills
