Chef to join our team on a
15:13 roster from Perth.You'll take charge of either breakfast or dinner service, catering for up to 150 - 200 residents at one of our mine-site villages in regional WA.
Key Responsibilities- Independently prepare and present buffet-style meals (breakfast or dinner)
- Report directly to the Village Manager
- Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards in line with HACCP protocols
- Assist with stock control, inventory, ordering, and budgeting
- Bake bread, pastries, and prepare crib meals (salads, meats, etc.)
- Supervise the kitchen and dining area, ensuring cleanliness and efficiency
- Minimise food waste and support cost control
- Participate in stocktakes and maintain daily food safety documentation
- Foster a safe, positive, and productive working environment
About YouYou’re a team player who thrives in fast-paced, high-volume environments, and you
take pride in creating meals that look as good as they taste. You’ll bring:
- Minimum at least 3 years’ experience in a remote mine-site kitchen
- Cert III in Commercial Cookery (or higher)
- Proven high-volume bulk cooking experience
- Strong knowledge of kitchen procedures, food safety, and HACCP standards
- Excellent communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills
- The ability to work independently
- A commitment to customer service and safety
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screen, and police clearance
Qualifications & Requirements- Full Australian working rights
- Valid WA Driver’s License
- National Police Clearance (within 3 months)
- Pre-Employment Medical & Fit for Work Assessment
- Commercial cookery certificates
- HACCP / Food Safety Certification
- White Card (desirable)
- First Aid Certificate (HLTAID011, desirable)
- Experience using Xero or similar systems (desirable)
