We are seeking an experienced Retail Manager to lead our store operations, develop our team and drive business performance.This is a full-time management position with excellent long-term career opportunities for an ambitious hospitality professional.Salary: $80,000 – $95,000 + Superannuation (depending on experience)Location: Perth, WAAbout the RoleReporting directly to the Directors, you will take full responsibility for the day-to-day management of the café, ensuring outstanding customer service, efficient operations and strong financial performance.You will be expected to operate the business as though it were your own.
Key ResponsibilitiesBusiness Management

• Manage the daily operations of the café
• Ensure profitability targets are achieved
• Monitor sales, labour costs and food costs
• Analyse weekly financial reports and implement improvements
• Develop strategies to increase revenue and customer numbers
• Monitor store performance against KPIs
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

Staff Management

• Recruit, interview and onboard new employees
• Prepare staff rosters
• Manage labour budgets
• Supervise up to 20+ employees
• Conduct staff training and coaching
• Perform performance reviews
• Manage disciplinary procedures when required
• Build a positive team culture
• Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained

Inventory & Purchasing

• Forecast stock requirements
• Order food, beverages and consumables
• Manage supplier relationships
• Control stock levels
• Conduct stocktakes
• Minimise wastage
• Monitor gross profit margins

Customer Experience

• Resolve customer complaints professionally
• Maintain high customer satisfaction
• Improve operational efficiency
• Maintain premium presentation standards
• Ensure food quality and consistency

Compliance

• Ensure compliance with Food Safety Standards
• Maintain workplace health and safety
• Ensure compliance with Fair Work legislation
• Maintain HACCP procedures where applicable
• Ensure all staff follow hygiene standards
• Maintain required business records

Essential RequirementsApplicants must demonstrate substantial experience in retail or hospitality management.We are looking for someone who has:

• Minimum 2 years’ full-time experience as a Retail Manager or Café Manager in Australia or overseas (more experience highly regarded)
• Experience managing a high-volume café or restaurant
• Experience supervising a team of at least 10 employees
• Experience preparing rosters and managing labour costs
• Experience managing stock purchasing and inventory
• Experience analysing sales and financial reports
• Strong leadership and communication skills
• Excellent customer service skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Ability to work under pressure
• Ability to work weekends, evenings and public holidays
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and POS systems
• Current Food Safety knowledge

Highly DesirableApplicants with the following will be highly regarded:

• Diploma or higher qualification in Hospitality, Business or Management
• Experience with Square POS
• Experience in dessert cafés or specialty beverage businesses
• Multi-site management experience
• Experience opening new stores
• Experience training managers
• First Aid Certificate
• Food Safety Supervisor Certificate
