Job Description:
Your Opportunity: Alberta Precision Laboratories, South Sector is seeking a Coordinator to join the Medical and Scientific Affairs team in Alberta. The position works in close partnership with the North Sector Medical and Scientific Affairs Coordinator to ensure accurate and timely performance of tasks related to recruitment, onboarding, privileging, appointment, and offboarding of Laboratory Medicine Medical and Clinical Doctoral Scientist Staff at APL. As part of the team that manages the province-wide business of Medical and Scientific Affairs, the Coordinator will collaborate with AHS Medical Affairs teams, IT and other stakeholders to manage multiple competing priorities while maintaining effective communication, both written and verbal. The incumbent will be cross trained to ensure team effectiveness and redundancy are minimal. The work location for this position is negotiable (though supports APL South Sector directly). Description: The Coordinator, South Sector is primarily responsible for recruitment and coordination of administrative aspects of recruitment activities of Medical staff and Clinical Doctoral Scientists for the South Sector. This includes assisting with preparing job ads, posting jobs internally and externally to meet Service Canada guidelines, CV collection, preparing interview guides, assisting with setting up interview panels with appropriate Medical Leaders, and coordination of logistics required in the selection process. It also includes following the process related to International Medical Graduates (IMGs) and LMIA applications. The Coordinator prepares offer letters, return of service agreements and assists with setting up APL IT system accesses as part of physician onboarding. The Coordinator processes all appointment, credentialing and privileging for Medical Staff. This includes assisting with sensitive and complex processes such as, but not limited to, interpretation and implementation of AHS Staff Bylaws and Rules, coordination of probationary assessments and periodic reviews, in consultation with applicable Medical Leaders and managing the Annual Information Verification and Attestation (AIVA) process, etc. The position may also support the physician contract payment process when required. The position reports to the Lead, Business Operations, Medical and Scientific Affairs and works with a variety of stakeholders in the organization (IT, APL medical leadership, AHS Medical Affairs, etc.).

Required Qualifications: An undergraduate degree in Health Services Administration, Business, Human Resources or other equivalent preparation. A minimum of three (3) years’ experience in physician recruitment, project or program management, data analysis, or other similar experience, in a related position preferably in a health-related field. Equivalencies may be considered. Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel and Word. Additional Required Qualifications: The candidate will have highly developed skills in communication, critical and creative thinking, demonstrated competence in managing multiple projects and the ability to conceptualize, self-manage, prioritize, and work in a fluid environment where many factors are ambiguous; an ability to communicate complex and sometimes difficult messages clearly in written and verbal mediums; a high capacity for self-direction; finance/budgeting/accounting skills; and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, Project, and Visio. Preferred Qualifications: Superior skills in communication, analysis, critical and creative thinking, and facilitation. Demonstrated competence in managing multiple projects and the ability to conceptualize, self-manage, prioritize, and work in a fluid environment. Knowledge of AHS Medical Bylaws and Rules, and previous experience in workforce planning.
