The Role
The successful person will become a member of a hardworking and committed team who are responsible for the effective use of site engineering systems to ensure that the maintenance of the Murrin Murrin fixed plant complies with applicable statutes and engineering standards and to maximise the plant availability and performance via reliability centred engineering improvement.
You will be responsible for:
- Providing sound engineering input to scheduled and breakdown maintenance activities
- Supporting Operational and Maintenance teams by providing timely engineering information and solutions
- Improving equipment reliability through application of sound engineering practices
- Undertaking failure and reliability analysis of critical plant equipment - RCA
- Developing and improving maintenance strategies and processes aimed to maximise plant reliability
- Ensuring technical reports are maintained to high standard
- Ensuring statutory compliance is maintained in respect to mechanical equipment installation and maintenance
- Ensuring the rigorous use of the Change Management System
- Delivering engineering projects within cost and time budgets
- Engaging vendors, service providers and other support groups to maximise plant reliability
- Recommending suitability and availability of capital/insurance spares
- Supporting team goals by undertaking extramural projects or specific task assignments
- Promoting reliability-centred maintenance by ensuring maintainability and robustness is inbuilt in equipment designs
About You
This role would suit an experienced Mechanical Engineer with experience within large chemical/metallurgical processing complexes.
You will also have:
- Mechanical Engineering Degree recognised by Engineers Australia
- Western Australian ‘C’ class drivers licence (Essential)
- Engineering and fixed plant maintenance experience within a large chemical/metallurgical processing complex is preferable
- Sound analytical and problem-solving skills
- Fundamental familiarity with Australian Standards and Legislation
- Demonstrated experience in utilising change management systems within large organisations.
- Demonstrated experience in managing small project costs and budgets
- Demonstrated application of continuous improvement ideas
- Proven ability to deliver results with a high level of customer support Computer Skills
- Good computer skills with the ability to use integrated management systems, word processing, presentation and spread sheet applications
