Job Description:
Are you an experienced Mental Health Nurse looking to advance your career in a specialist crisis service while enjoying an exceptional lifestyle in Tasmania?

We are seeking a Clinical Nurse Specialist to join the Crisis Assessment and Treatment Team (CATT) based within the Adult Community Mental Health Service. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a highly skilled multidisciplinary team supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health crises across the North West region.

About the Role
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist, you will provide advanced clinical expertise and leadership in the assessment, treatment and management of consumers presenting with complex mental health needs. Working within a community-based crisis service, you will deliver comprehensive assessments, crisis intervention, clinical risk management and recovery-focused care.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting specialist mental health assessments and triage services.
  • Providing crisis intervention and evidence-based treatment recommendations.
  • Supporting consumers, families and carers throughout the recovery journey.
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, community organisations and health services.
  • Contributing expert clinical advice and guidance to nursing, medical and allied health professionals.
  • Promoting person-centred, trauma-informed and recovery-oriented care.

About You
To be successful, you will have:
  • Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA or eligibility for AHPRA
  • Specialist Mental Health/Psychiatric Nursing qualifications or equivalent recognised experience.
  • Demonstrated clinical experience withincommunity mental health services.
  • Strong assessment, risk management and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
  • A commitment to trauma-informed and recovery-focused practice.
  • Current driver's licence.
