COMPANY WEBSITE: www.hydroinc.comJOB SUMMARY: The Journeyman Manual Machinist is responsible for the modification and operation of industrial manual machinery for large pump parts to precise specifications. The Manual Machinist develops and maintains these parts utilizing knowledge of metal properties, layout, and machining procedures. The successful candidate will be experienced with machining on equipment such as Vertical Turret Lathes, Manual Lathes, or Horizontal Boring Mills. ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Experience in machining large pump components such as cases, impellers, wear-rings, bearing housings, shafts, and covers.
• Ability to hold close tolerances (+/- 0.001”).
• Experience in planning and boring of horizontal pump casings is a plus.
• Proficiency in manual machining on a Lathe, VTL, or HBM.
• Experience machining shafts and keyways.
• Sufficient mathematical skills to compute angles, radii, bolt circles, and other dimensions.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• Overhead crane experience.
• A minimum of 3 years' related work experience is required.
• Candidates with experience in the pump or rotating equipment industry will be strongly considered.

EDUCATION AND VISA REQUIREMENTS:

• Equivalent status as a Journeyman Manual Machinist.
• Minimum 2-year industrial/technical trade education from a recognized Canadian institution.
• Must be a citizen of Canada to meet visa requirements.

Schedule:

• 8-hour shift, Monday to Friday.
• Overtime available.
• 2nd shift premium of 5%.
• Weekend availability when necessary.
