Details Pay rate: $30–$40 per hourAbout the opportunity Our Tradestaff branches work with clients across New Zealand who need skilled Heavy Diesel Mechanics. We’re recruiting multiple experienced mechanics for permanent positions, with opportunities available in different parts of the country.You’ll be guaranteed a minimum of
30 hours per week, with a normal working week typically around
40–45 hours.For eligible overseas candidates,
visa sponsorship is available, and our experienced International team will support you through the process of making the move to New Zealand.What you’ll be doing
- Servicing, maintaining and repairing heavy diesel vehicles and machinery
- Diagnosing mechanical, electrical and hydraulic faults
- Carrying out preventative maintenance and scheduled servicing
- Repairing engines, transmissions, braking and hydraulic systems
- Completing inspections and accurately recording work carried out
What we’re looking for
- A relevant Heavy Automotive/Diesel Mechanic trade qualification or equivalent overseas qualification
- Proven experience working with heavy vehicles, trucks, construction or earthmoving equipment
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills
- The ability to work safely and maintain a high standard of workmanship
- Good English communication skills
