Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity We are currently seeking applications from Clinical Psychologists for various permanent roles, across all our community sites. Whether you are a few years into your practice or an experienced Clinical Psychologist, we have opportunities for you to further develop your skills.
Mental Health roles: Early Psychosis Intervention Team – Full Time 1FTE, Permanent. Based at 7 Springs Road in East Tamaki. Our community-based Early Psychosis Intervention Service (EPIT), provides specialist mental health care for young adults (<30 years) and their whaanau along the road towards their recovery. EPIT service provides assessment and treatment for adolescents and young adults presenting with a first episode of psychosis. We also provide early intervention for those whaiora (a person seeking health) presenting with symptoms suggestive of high risk of developing a psychotic illness; and provide consultation and liaison with primary care partners for those with mild to moderate concerns.
Maternal Mental Health – Part Time 0.6FTE, Permanent. Based at 7 Springs Road in East Tamaki. Our perinatal services include Maternal Mental Health, and Whakatupu Ora (Infant Mental Health) services. Maternal Mental Health is a multi-disciplinary specialist team providing assessment and treatment to women and their whanau in pregnancy and up to 12-months post-partum. You will have a focus on early intervention and experience in working with family/whanau and this could include working with fathers who are struggling with fatherhood. The teams provide clinic and community-based services for families in the Counties Manukau region.
Te Puawaitanga (Children and Adolescent Mental Health) - Full time 1FTE, Permanent. Based at 7 Springs Road in East Tamaki. Our integrated locality-based services provide specialist mental health care for children and young people with mental health and addiction problems, and provide consultation and liaison with primary care partners for those with mild to moderate concerns. We cover the areas of Manukau, Manurewa, Papakura and across the Franklin region. If you hold training, experience, and an affiliation with an appropriate evidence-based treatment modality such as DBT, CBT, ACT, or family therapy, we would like to hear from you. This is an opportunity to join a clinical psychology team that provides excellent and quality care.
Rapua Te Ao Waiora (RTAW, Adult Community Mental Health) - Full time 1FTE, Permanent. Based at 5-19 Great South Road, Papakura. We work with pakeke/adults aged 18 - 65 years of age, living in the southern region of Counties Manukau. Our integrated care services provide specialist mental health care for those with serious mental health and addiction problems living across Papakura and Manurewa. We work closely with pakeke/adults and their whaanau, non-government organisations and their primary care providers – GP practices and marae. RTAW works closely with our Rapua Whaioranga Cultural Clinical Service and are based on the same site. This will offer an opportunity to connect and link in closely with our Rapua Whaioranga staff and services. This is our Maori based service with cultural advisors included in the team which makes up the Maori Integrated Care South Services.
Koropiko (Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP) - Part Time 0.6FTE, Permanent. Based at Middlemore Hospital. Mental Health Service for Older People (MHSOP) located at Middlemore Hospital is a multidisciplinary service, consisting of an inpatient ward and community team. This is a part time role based on the inpatient ward. MHSOP is specifically tailored to those aged 65 years and over, although people under this age are sometimes seen due to their presentation. Our multidisciplinary community team focuses on assessing and treating clients with functional disorders and dementia-related symptoms within the Counties Manukau area. The team works from a biopsychosocial approach, and it is expected that the suitable candidate will be skilled in CBT, however the ability to incorporate other models of therapy would be advantageous. This is an opportunity to develop clinical psychology skills with older peoples from diverse populations and backgrounds.

- Hold a current annual practising certificate or eligible to apply for one
- A minimum 12 months practical experience in clinical psychology or equivalent
- Full, clean driver’s licence
