You will work as part of our kitchen team, preparing and cooking dishes to our established recipes and quality specifications.This is a full-time permanent position offering a competitive salary, stable employment, and the opportunity to develop your culinary skills in a busy, professional kitchen.Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook dishes according to established recipes and quality standards• Ensure all food preparation meets food safety and hygiene regulations including HACCP principles• Monitor food quality, presentation, and portion control throughout service• Maintain cleanliness and organization of kitchen areas and equipment• Work collaboratively with other kitchen staff during busy service periods• Assist with stock monitoring, FIFO rotation, and proper food storage• Follow all workplace health and safety procedures• Assist with menu preparation and special dietary requirements as directed• Participate in training and development as required• Perform other duties as reasonably required by management
Essential Requirements
- Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent qualification (AQF Diploma or higher)• Minimum 3 years of professional kitchen experience working as a qualified Chef• Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and kitchen operations• Understanding of food safety standards, HACCP principles, and hygiene regulations• Ability to work effectively under pressure during busy service periods• Good communication skills and ability to work well in a team environment• Availability to work a structured roster including evenings, weekends, and public holidays• Physical fitness to stand for extended periods and work in a fast-paced kitchen• Current or ability to obtain Food Safety Supervisor certificate• Right to work in Australia (Australian citizen, permanent resident, or valid work visa)
Desirable Skills (Preferred but not Essential)
- Experience in modern Australian cuisine including Italian, Asian, French• Specialized skills in pasta-making, grill work, seafood preparation• Previous experience working in premium dining or high-volume restaurants• Knowledge of modern kitchen equipment and cooking techniques
