Business Development Manager (BDM) to expand our client base and grow our asset finance portfolio across New Zealand.
About the RoleAs a Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, building strong industry relationships, and delivering tailored finance solutions to clients. You will work closely with brokers, dealers, and business owners to structure lending solutions that meet customer needs while supporting company growth objectives.
Key Responsibilities Business Development & SalesIdentify and develop new business opportunities within target marketsGenerate leads through networking, referrals, industry relationships, and direct outreachPromote asset finance and commercial lending solutions to prospective clientsAchieve sales, lending, and growth targets
Client Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with clients, brokers, and industry partnersUnderstand client financing needs and provide suitable lending solutionsSupport clients throughout the finance application and approval processMaintain ongoing relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals
Financial Solutions & Deal StructuringGather and assess client financial and business informationWork with credit teams to structure finance proposalsPresent lending options and explain terms clearly to clientsCoordinate submission and progression of finance applications
Market Development & ReportingMonitor industry trends across transport, logistics, and construction sectorsIdentify new market opportunities and growth areasMaintain accurate CRM records and sales activity trackingPrepare pipeline reports, forecasts, and performance updates
Skills & ExperienceExperience in business development, sales, banking, lending, or financial servicesStrong knowledge of commercial lending or asset finance (advantageous)Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skillsAbility to work independently and meet sales targetsStrong problem-solving and customer-focused mindsetProficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office
