Experienced Barber

Experienced Barber wanted for a busy commercial barbershop in the city center.We are looking for a passionate, experienced barber to join our team. Great communication skills are required to consult with our clients ensuring that all their hair-related needs are listened to and met. The barber’s responsibilities include cutting, trimming, styling, and coloring client’s hair according to their instructions. You should be confident in also assisting clients with hairstyle suggestions and haircare advice to best suit them. Barber Responsibilities:

• Welcoming clients and consulting with them on their desired hairstyles.
• Cutting and trimming hair according to clients' instructions.
• Styling hair using products and styling tools.
• Shaving, trimming and shaping clients’ beards and mustaches.
• Washing and conditioning clients’ hair.
• Providing hair treatments and coloring.
• Ensuring that combs, scissors, razors, and other instruments are cleaned and sanitized after each use.
• Supervising apprentices and trainees.
• Providing hairstyle suggestions to clients.
• Educating clients on hair and beard products to help them find the best option.

Rate of pay:$28.00-$35.00 per hour, depending on experience. Minimum guaranteed hours:30 hours per week. Location:Dunedin City Centre. Qualifications and work experience:New Zealand Certificate in Commercial Barbering (Level 4) or Hairdressing (Level 3 or 4) or international equivalent.Minimum of 3 years working full time in a commercial Barbershop / Salon.Hairdressing skills are necessary for clients with longer hairstyles. Hours per week (fixed or variable) with min / max hours per week:30-40 hours per week. Number of positions available:One full-time position.
