Job Description:
Head Chef - Husk Farm Distillery Cellar Door This fantastic role has just become available after several years. Day shifts only! We are open daily and do a full lunch service from 11-3pm, and a smaller all day menu until around 4pm. You'll be stepping into a leadership position in an exciting, high volume and fast paced licensed venue our farm in the beautiful Tweed Valley. The systems and team are all set up. We're looking for an experienced leader to come in and build off the incredible base we already have. Our food concept is paddock to plate, farm style share food. You'll be working with our horticulturist Lou to use what we grow onsite, and have the opportunity to work with the bar and distilling team to incorporate our spirits and botanicals into the menu.   • Minimum 2 years Head Chef experience in a comparable venue
  • Minimum 8 years experience as a qualified chef 
  • Excellent managerial skills 
  • Excellent communication skills 
  • Very confident in basic administration - emails, costing menus, managing suppliers 
  • Professional and well presented
  • Reliable 
  • Up to date with food trends - you will get an eating out ‘research’ budget to spend!  
  • Passionate with a positive outlook 
  • Food Safety Supervisor certificate 

About the RoleMostly day shifts ~9am-5:30pm, working with a great team in a beautiful environment. 
  • Be responsible for all kitchen operations 
  • Manage the kitchen team to ensure staff are working efficiently to minimise paid overtime (work/life balance is possible in this role) 
  • Train and support kitchen staff  
  • Ensure food safety & cleanliness is upheld at all times 
  • Ensure all food is cooked and plated to a consistently exceptional standard
  • Standard roster is Wednesday-Sunday 
  • Deliver 2 x seasonal menus a year with regular specials 
  • Develop our food retail products so guests can take home your secret sauce! 
  • 5 weeks paid leave per year
