Job Description:
Odyssey House New Zealand is a non-profit organisation providing residential and community-based alcohol and drug treatment, rehabilitation, and social reintegration programmes for people affected by addiction.An Experienced Youth Practitioner typically supports vulnerable young people (rangatahi) facing challenges such as mental health issues, addiction, youth justice involvement, family difficulties, education barriers, or social exclusion. They often take on more complex cases and may mentor junior staff. Key ResponsibilitiesConduct assessments and develop support plans.Provide case management and one-on-one support.Facilitate youth development, wellbeing, and life-skills programmes.Work with whānau, schools, courts, health providers, and community agencies.Support young people with education, employment, housing, and health needs.Manage risk and crisis situations.Maintain case notes, reports, and compliance records.Apply evidence-based approaches for behaviour change and motivation.Promote culturally responsive practice, including knowledge of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, tikanga Māori, and Pacific cultures.Mentor less experienced practitioners where required.Pay: $5,600.00 – $6,500.00 per monthBenefits:
