About the role: To be eligible to apply for this position you must be PGY2+. This position is a full-time position, commencing as soon as possible for 12 months with possible extension. Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person-centred care. It provides acute, sub-acute, primary and community‐based health services, to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding regions. More information can be found on the CHS website. Medical Staff in the Canberra Health Services enjoy excellent conditions, and our Enterprise Agreement is available at: ACT Public Sector Medical Practitioners Determination 2023-2026 North Canberra Hospital (formerly Calvary Public Hospital Bruce) and Clare Holland House are now run and operated by Canberra Health Services (CHS) This is a significant milestone as the ACT Government is moving towards delivering a new hospital on Canberra’s Northside. The new Northside Hospital will be built on the existing North Canberra Hospital (NCH) campus in Bruce. It will be a modern, state-of-the-art hospital for patients, visitors and its workforce and will provide more beds and increased services. Until then, it's business as usual at NCH, and we'll keep providing high-quality care to our patients and community. The Resident Medical Officer assists the Consultants, subspecialty Consultants and accredited General Medicine Registrars in the care and management of General Medicine patients. These are non-accredited positions and entail participation in a general medical roster that includes nights and weekends.
Prior to commencement, the successful candidates will be required to:- Undergo a pre-employment National Police Check
- Comply with Canberra Health Services Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination policy
