About the role You'll be part of a team providing a full range of specialist acute and elective surgery to patients, providing comprehensive elective general orthopaedic services, as well as 24-hour Orthopaedic Trauma and Orthopaedic Emergency care. The scope of your work will be varied and will include exposure to a range of subspecialties including the following:Trauma surgery
• Foot and Ankle Surgery
• Joint replacement
• Sports Medicine
• Orthopaedic Surgery
• Spinal surgery
• Occupational Medicine
• Paediatric Orthopaedics
• Upper Limb Surgery
• Scoliosis surgery

• The opportunity to provide healthcare to a large geographical area, ensuring your exposure to a wider range of work and resulting in an enviably broad skill base. There is a strong collaborative relationship with the University of Otago, making a number of teaching and research options possible for those keen to pursue their academic careers whilst completing their clinical work. The service has weekly teaching, case discussions, journal clubs, and peer review sessions. • a minimum of two years post qualification and possess a strong interest in progressing their Orthopaedic careers and be keen to become a participating member of the team.
