Āu Mahi | What You Will Do As a Lecturer or Senior Lecturer in Data Science, you will contribute to an engaging academic environment where high-quality teaching and impactful, industry-connected research support student success and innovation in the field. In this role you will:
- Deliver engaging teaching across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes, particularly within the applied data science programme.
- Apply innovative, research-informed teaching methodologies, including supporting learners across on-campus, distance, and online delivery.
- Supervise postgraduate students and support their academic and research development and engagement with industry.
- Develop a strong research profile in data science or a related field and contribute to the School’s research culture.
- Build collaborative research connections within the University, with industry partners, and across national and international networks.
- Contribute to curriculum development, programme quality assurance, and service activities.
At Senior Lecturer level, you will also provide leadership in research and contribute to mentoring colleagues. You will help shape the School's research culture and direction and contribute to growing the School's reputation as a hub for data science and AI in Aotearoa New Zealand.
Mōu | Who You Are You are a collaborative academic with expertise in data science and a passion for teaching, research, and supporting student success. You will bring:
- A PhD in data science, computer science, statistics, or a closely related discipline.
- Evidence of an emerging or developing research portfolio with quality publications or research outputs.
- Ability to contribute to research collaborations and build a strong research profile.
- Experience delivering effective, engaging, research-informed teaching at tertiary level.
- Experience supervising , postgraduate students.
- A collegial approach and willingness to contribute to School and University service.

Lecturer $94,181 - $113,616;
Senior Lecturer $119,586 - $149,806.
