Field Service Engineer

You will beresponsible for planning and coordinating field service scope of projects within budget, time and under consideration of all Field Service relevant aspects of Snowy Hydro 2.0. Initially you will be located at the office and as soon as site operations start to initiate its activities at site, you will be required to be full time located at site. Open to international candidates.
 
Your tasks
  • Provides technical support and advice to field sites. Prepare and maintain work packages, technical procedures, control sheets, methods and documentation for the installation teams at the job site.
  • Proactively anticipate risks and chances and raise them to the Project Team. Maintain of the Field Service schedule and coordinate dates with project team and customer.
  • Participate in the evaluation of installation subcontractor bids/offers and actively participate in the decision-making process.
  • Prepares specifications, technical procedures and work descriptions for installation subcontractors and evaluation of installation bids/offers.
  • Participates in design review meetings and ensures field related design considerations.
  • Ensures availability of all required information. Participates in site assessments.
  • Ensures availability of HSE and quality plans and documents.
  • Develops and ensures availability of project specific procedures and safety assessments.
  • Determines site layouts, tooling/fixtures and site infrastructure requirements.
  • Monitors target achievement regarding quality, schedule, costs and supports corrective actions.
  • Facilitates identification and allocation of required internal and external resources.
  • Coordination and teamwork between site and back-office

 
 
Your profile
  • University degree or diploma in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent industry experience.
  • Experience and technical understanding of Turbines (Hydro preferred, but Steam or Gas also considered), Generators and balance of plant equipment.
  • Project management, sub-supplier handling and scheduling experience.
  • Capable of reading and interpreting blueprints, specifications, schedules and budgets.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Fully computer literate MS office suite, as well as SAP and Primavera P6 knowledge.
  • Competent in AutoCad, Solid edge software or equivalent are desirable.
  • Highly developed written and verbal communication skills in English; due to the international team set-up additional languages are beneficial.
  • Team player with strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Willing to stay in Australia for the project execution time (approx. 4-5 years).

 
Site conditions
  • A typical roster of 14 days in, 7 days out.
  • Salary uplift (25%) while on side
  • Camp accommodation and Food is provided.

 
Project Information:
Snowy 2.0 is the next generation of the iconic Snowy Mountains Hydroelectric Scheme, and construction of this major pumped-hydro project is well underway. Once complete, the Scheme will provide 2000 megawatts of dispatchable, on-demand renewable power and approximately 350,000 megawatt hours of large-scale energy storage to the Australian National Electricity Market.
