The School of science is seeking to appoint an Associate Professor or Professor in Forensic Science to this senior academic leadership role. This position requires a forward thinking, contemporary, and innovative leader to take on the role. Appointees at Level D (Associate Professor) 
In this role, you will make significant contributions to the research and teaching efforts of the School and University, including the supervision of honours and postgraduate research students. You are expected to provide leadership and foster excellence in research relevant to your discipline area. Appointees at Level E (Professor) 
Will lead the forensic science program, fostering excellence in research, teaching, professional activities, and development within the forensic discipline both within the School and in collaboration with other organisational units and external partners. They will exercise a special responsibility in providing leadership and fostering excellence in research, teaching, professional activities, and policy development relevant to their discipline area. The appointee is expected to play an active role in maintaining academic standards, developing educational policy, and curriculum areas within the discipline. Additionally, they will contribute to the strategic directions of the School and participate in the governance processes of the University. Appointees (at both levels) will have a distinguished track record of research in the Forensic Sciences (demonstrated by publications in high impact journals, successful grant applications and links with external bodies including industry, government and community); expertise to teach the breadth of the forensic science curriculum and demonstrated experience in research training at the postgraduate level. The position holder will contribute to and strengthen the existing WSU forensic curriculum (both undergraduate and postgraduate coursework) and research activities and contribute to the strategic directions of the School through active participate in governance roles and outreach activities of the School and University.  About You
The successful candidate will provide leadership in the teaching, design, and delivery of subjects within relevant programs, actively enhancing the student experience and facilitating the transition of students into professional and research training. They will participate in curriculum activities, ensuring leadership in program and subject development, implementation, and evaluation. The role includes supervising masters and higher degree research students and projects, developing a robust research profile, leading a research culture with successful competitive grant activity, and publishing high-quality research papers. Additionally, the candidate will contribute to the leadership within the School/Discipline, attend meetings, serve on the Research Committee, and take a leadership role in the School’s research. They will build in-depth relationships with industry and professional bodies, contribute to governance in professional, government, and community bodies, and actively pursue personal professional development while mentoring early and mid-career colleagues. Participation in the administration of the Forensic Science postgraduate program and active involvement in University and School events are also expected. Culture

ACADEMIC D – Associate Professor $202,792 to $222,734 p.a. (comprising Salary of $171, 829 to $188,873 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading) ACADEMIC E – Professor $259,309 to $268,332 p.a. (comprising Salary of $220,134 to $227,846 p.a., plus Superannuation and Leave Loading)
