Acorn Acres Early Learning Centre, located in Moe, Victoria, is a community-oriented early childhood setting inspired by nature. With natural play environments, open-plan rooms filled with natural light and abundant age-appropriate resources, both indoor and outdoor play areas, we provide the perfect setting for 60 children to explore, grow, and thrive.
About the RoleAs a Preschool Teacher at Acorn Acres Early Learning Centre, you are responsible for creating a warm, nurturing environment where children feel safe, valued, and inspired to learn. You will use a play-based, nature-inspired approach to design experiences that foster curiosity, creativity, and confidence. Guided by the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF), you will support children's growth across all developmental areas, including literacy, numeracy, social-emotional wellbeing, and problem-solving. You will build strong partnerships with families, celebrate each child's unique strengths and cultural background, and nurture a deep connection to the natural world. Through intentional teaching, meaningful relationships, and reflective practice, you will lay the foundation for a positive transition to school and a lifelong love of learning.
Accountabilities and Key Performance Indicators:Delivering a successful Ready for School preschool Program for 4 to 5-year-old group Creating an innovative, emerging, & inclusive curriculum Providing both structured & spontaneous play-based learningDocumenting Individual Learning & Development PlansWriting transition reports & connecting with local schoolsSupporting educators in delivering best practiceDesign and assess a holistic curriculum that reflects each child’s knowledge, culture, and interests, within a play-based learning environment and in alignment with the National Quality Framework (NQF).Ensure adherence to all health, safety, and centre policies, as well as compliance with licensing, legislation, and regulations.Proven ability to develop and maintain a harmonious team environmentFamiliar with current trends in Early ChildhoodUnderstanding of the Child Safe StandardsExcellent communication skills
Experiences and qualifications A minimum of 2 years of experience working as a preschool teacher in a similar setting, running a 4-year-old preschool programme. A Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) or a similar degree, or a Master of Teaching (Early Childhood).
