Full Time (37 hours, 1 FTE) Salary: £39,347 - £45,585 per annum plus £4,000 London Weighting Allowance per annum Location: London Campus UWTSD traces its heritage back to the first university in Wales, receiving its Royal Charter in 1828. UWTSD now teaches over 16,000 students across its six campuses in the UK; four in Wales and two in England. We are now building on this strong culture and provision to become a leading provider of accessible higher education.  We are now looking for a Lecturer in Computing to join our London campus on a full-time, permanent contract, working 37 hours per week.  THE ROLE The Lecturer in Computing will be required to devise a range of teaching and assessment materials, covering several modules and subject areas within Computing. They may be required to lead on the Computing programme/modules. The post holder will deliver teaching in a variety of different learning environments and use a variety of teaching styles and approaches, including all levels of undergraduate study and, where appropriate, postgraduate study. The post holder will offer both academic and pastoral feedback and support to students to the highest professional standards and with regard to the ongoing enhancement of the student experience. The post holder will undertake scholarship, research, training or project work, either individually or within a team, to ensure ongoing professional development and to enhance the profile of the Academic Discipline, Institute and University. Main duties will include: Offer teaching and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate level of study Offer teaching in a variety of learning settings using appropriate and engaging teaching styles Design and develop teaching materials, assessment methods and criteria, with a clear awareness and understanding of relevant quality assurance requirements Supervise the work of students in a timely, professional and supportive manner, providing necessary advice Offer appropriate advice, feedback, support, and encouragement to students to ensure a high-quality student experience Undertake relevant scholarly and research activity Engage in continuing professional development and enhancement REQUIREMENTS You should have: A postgraduate qualification in a relevant discipline Experience in teaching, assessment and student support at undergraduate and postgraduate levels in the UK HE sector Experience in the design and development of module content Experience of leading modules/programmes Evidence of good organisational and personal management skills Evidence of excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively IT proficiency and experience of using e-resources Evidence of the ability to balance competing pressures of teaching, scholarship, research, administrative demands and deadlines Please see job description for full responsibilities and requirements.
