Aide seasoned mechanics in the lesser duties associated with the repair of vehicles. Assist to diagnose, examine, test, adjust and repair various commercial vehicles and equipment such as, pick-up trucks, heavy tractor-trailer combinations, trucks with the Gross Vehicle Weight Rating (GVWR) over 26,001 pounds, loaders, trailers and other related machinery and equipment as required. Hold or supply tools and parts for higher skilled workers. Position vehicles and other objects, as necessary. Daily functions may include inspecting vehicles, machinery and equipment to ensure fully functional; Engaging the engines and driving or operating the machinery or equipment or vehicle within the maintenance area to ensure it is operating properly, safely and fully functional for the work ahead; Cleaning and lubricating vehicles and other equipment and tools; Parking, positioning and/or moving the various vehicles being maintained or repaired as needed to ensure they are maintained, repaired, inspected and released safely and efficiently; Keeping the maintenance area clear and safe by ensuring all diagnostic equipment, supplies, tools, large and small maintenance equipment, fluids, and supplies are stored and positioned as needed. Minimum 6 months Automotive Maintenance Technician experience and a Commercial Driver's License or equivalent is required. No education requirements. No OJT needed. If the worker completes 50 percent of the work contract period, the employer will reimburse the worker for transportation and subsistence from the place of recruitment to the place of work. Upon completion of the work contract or where the worker is dismissed earlier, the employer will pay for the worker’s reasonable costs of return transportation and subsistence back home or to the place the worker originally departed to work, except where the worker will not return due to subsequent employment with another employer or where the employer has appropriately reported a worker's voluntary abandonment of employment. The amount of transportation payment or reimbursement will be equal to the most economical and reasonable common carrier for the distances involved. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $16.28 per day during travel to a maximum of $68.00 per day with receipts.
Workers will be reimbursed in the first workweek for all visa, visa processing, border crossing and other related fees, including those mandated by the government (except passport fees). The employer will provide workers at no charge with all tools, supplies, and equipment required to perform the job. The employer guarantees to offer work for hours equal to at least three-fourths of the workdays in each 12-week period of the total employment period.
