DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Preparing and organizing ingredients, including cleaning, cutting, and marinating meat, vegetables, and other food items.2. Follow recipes and portion sizes to ensure consistency in taste and presentation.3. Using the appropriate cooking techniques such as grilling, frying, baking, sautéing, roasting, and steaming to achieve desired flavors and textures.4. Contributing to menu planning by suggesting new dishes, creating specials, and considering dietary restrictions or customer preferences.5. Collaborating with the chef or kitchen manager in developing new recipes.6. Adhering to strict hygiene and safety standards to maintain a clean and sanitary work environment.7. Following proper food handling procedures, monitoring food storage temperatures, and ensuring that all equipment and utensils are cleaned and sanitized.8. Paying attention to food presentation, arranging and garnishing dishes to enhance their visual appeal.9. Monitoring the quality and taste of the food prepared.10. Tasting and adjusting seasonings as necessary and ensuring that the final product meets the establishment's standards for flavor, texture, and appearance.11. Managing the time effectively to ensure that all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner.12. Collaborating with other cooks, chefs, and kitchen staff to coordinate food preparation and ensure smooth operations during busy periods.13. Tracking ingredient quantities, placing orders for supplies, and rotating stock to minimize waste.14. Being able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously, such as preparing multiple dishes, monitoring cooking times, and attending to special requests or dietary restrictions.
