OverviewWe are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our culinary team. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive culinary expertise, and a commitment to delivering exceptional dining experiences. This role involves overseeing all aspects of food preparation, ensuring high standards of food safety, and managing kitchen operations efficiently. The Head Chef will play a pivotal role in maintaining the restaurant's reputation for quality and innovation while fostering a positive and productive team environment.
Responsibilities- Lead and supervise the kitchen team, including chefs, cooks, and kitchen assistants, to ensure smooth daily operations
- Oversee food production, ensuring dishes are prepared to the highest standards of quality, presentation, and consistency
- Develop and update menu offerings in collaboration with management, incorporating seasonal ingredients and culinary trends
- Manage food safety protocols in compliance with health regulations and company policies
- Organise staff schedules, delegate tasks effectively, and monitor performance to optimise productivity
- Train new staff members and provide ongoing professional development for existing team members
- Maintain inventory levels by ordering supplies and managing stock control efficiently
- Ensure cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen environment at all times
- Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service delivery and customer satisfaction
- Monitor food costs and waste to maximise profitability without compromising quality
Qualifications- Proven supervising experience within a busy culinary environment, preferably in a restaurant or hospitality setting
- Extensive culinary experience with strong skills in food preparation, cooking techniques, and presentation
- Demonstrable leadership abilities with experience managing diverse teams in high-pressure situations
- Knowledge of food safety standards and regulations applicable to the hospitality industry
- Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
- Excellent communication skills to coordinate with staff and management teams
- Previous experience in restaurant management or similar roles is highly desirable
