About the Role:

In this role you will be responsible for providing Occupational Therapy services to in-patients, across the acute or sub-acute wards. You will provide specialist assessment, treatment and discharge planning to admitted patients in the Acute, Rehabilitation, Geriatric Evaluation & Management, Palliative Care and Sub-acute in the home (Mare Coram Unit at Home) services.

This role will include
  • Provision of person-centred, evidence-based care
  • Collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams to support achievement of patient-focused goals
  • Engagement in a robust professional development program and supervision
  • Participation in continuous quality improvement activities
  • Supervision of students and junior staff

The role may also provide opportunities to work across other services of the hospital as required including in-patient mental health unit and outpatients (renal unit)

We are looking for an Occupational Therapist with
  • Relevant tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy with eligibility for membership of Occupational Therapy Australia
  • Current registration with Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency as an Occupational Therapist
  • Extensive experience providing Occupational Therapy services in the in-patient setting with knowledge of, and the ability to assess, goal set, prescribe interventions and develop effective discharge plans
  • Positive attitude towards supporting others and expanding their own skills and experience
