Job SummaryThe Business Support Manager will handle the back-end operations of the Hotel, including finance, HR, compliance, marketing, and vendor management. This role is ideal for an organized, analytical professional who ensures the business runs seamlessly behind the scenes while supporting the Chief Executive Officer.
Financial & Administrative Management- Manage bookkeeping, invoicing, payroll, and budgeting.
- Monitor cash flow, expenses, and profitability. Liaise with accountants, suppliers, and service providers.
- Ensure compliance with tax, licensing, and hospitality regulations.
Operations & Systems Support - Optimize booking systems (e.g., Freetobook, Airbnb, Expedia, Booking.com).
- Oversee maintenance contracts (cleaning, utilities, repairs).
- Implement and improve operational processes for efficiency.
- Manage procurement and inventory control (linens, toiletries, breakfast supplies).
HR & Staff Coordination - Assist with recruitment, contracts, and staff records.
- Support training and performance management.
- Handle scheduling, payroll, and HR compliance (right-to-work checks, pensions).
Marketing & Business Growth- Assist with digital marketing (website, social media, email campaigns).
- Monitor online reviews and reputation management.
- Analyze occupancy trends and pricing strategies.
Compliance & Risk Management- Ensure adherence to health & safety, fire regulations, and food hygiene standards.
- Maintain insurance policies and data protection (GDPR).
- Conduct risk assessments and implement improvements.
Qualifications- Masters in any discipline
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in bookkeeping software (e.g. QuickBooks) and PMS/booking systems.
- Knowledge of UK employment law, hospitality regulations, and GDPR.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Tech-savvy (Microsoft Office, social media, SEO basics).
- Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and occasional evenings.
