This role will suit someone with previous supervisory or management experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment who is practical, organised and willing to work alongside the team to get the job done.Experience in powder coating is highly regarded, but not essential.About the roleReporting to the Production Manager, you will be responsible for supervising day-to-day operations across the workshop while also actively assisting with production tasks as required.This is a hands-on leadership role, not a stand-back supervisory position. You will be expected to lead from the front and support the team with manual workshop duties including jigging, preparation, powder coating and general production work where needed.Key responsibilities

• Supervise and support production staff across daily workshop operations
• Coordinate workflow to ensure jobs are completed safely, efficiently and on time
• Assist with hands-on production duties including jigging, preparation, powder coating and other workshop tasks as required
• Monitor quality throughout production and ensure work meets required standards and specifications
• Support the Production Manager with scheduling, workflow and operational priorities
• Assist with staff training, guidance and day-to-day supervision on the factory floor
• Ensure job cards, production paperwork and other documentation are completed correctly
• Promote and enforce safe work practices across the workshop
• Help maintain a clean, organised and efficient production environment
• Identify process improvement opportunities and raise operational issues when needed

About youTo be successful in this role, you will ideally have:

• Previous experience in a supervisor, leading hand, team leader or similar role in a manufacturing or industrial setting
• Strong leadership skills and the ability to motivate, direct and support a team
• A practical, hands-on approach and willingness to work alongside others on the floor
• Good understanding of production processes, workflow and quality control
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• A high level of accountability, attention to detail and reliability
• A strong commitment to workplace safety
• Ability to work to deadlines and manage competing priorities
• Powder coating or related finishing experience highly regarded, but not essential
• Forklift licence highly regarded
