Safety Officer / HSE Advisor Sarah Constructions | Australia Position OverviewA Safety Officer / HSE Advisor is responsible for ensuring construction sites comply with Australian Work Health & Safety (WHS) legislation and company safety standards. The role focuses on risk management, incident prevention, and promoting a strong safety culture across all projects. Key Responsibilities: Site Safety ManagementConduct daily site safety inspections and auditsIdentify hazards and implement corrective controlsEnsure compliance with WHS legislation and site safety plansMonitor high-risk activities such as working at heights, lifting, and excavation Risk Assessment & ReportingPrepare and review Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS)Conduct risk assessments for construction activitiesInvestigate incidents, injuries, and near missesPrepare reports and corrective action plans Training & Safety CultureDeliver toolbox talks and site inductionsTrain workers on safe work practices and PPE usePromote a safety-first workplace cultureSupport subcontractors with compliance requirements Compliance & DocumentationMaintain safety records, registers, and audit documentationEnsure permits and safety systems are in placeSupport internal and external safety audits Stakeholder CollaborationWork closely with Project and Site ManagersLiaise with subcontractors and consultantsReport on site safety performanceSupport continuous improvement initiatives Skills & Experience: EssentialCertificate IV or Diploma in Work Health & SafetyExperience in construction safety (commercial projects preferred)Strong knowledge of Australian WHS legislationAbility to conduct audits and risk assessmentsStrong communication and leadership skills DesirableNEBOSH or IOSH certificationExperience in large-scale construction projectsIncident investigation trainingFirst Aid and White Card certificationPay: From $10,500.00 per monthBenefits:
