Specialist Manager – Crime Scene, Trauma & Meth Decontamination Cleaning Location: Based in Christchurch, Nationwide (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch and other regions) Employment Type: Full-time 30+ Hours per week Reports To: Director/General Manager Role Overview We are seeking an experienced Specialist Manager to support the operational and administrative delivery of our specialist cleaning services, including crime scene, trauma, biohazard, and methamphetamine decontamination. Reporting directly to the Director/General Manager, you will play a key role in day-to-day operations, staff supervision, compliance, client liaison, and site-based assessments. This role requires hands-on operational involvement and strong leadership capability. You will attend customer sites to conduct assessments and prepare accurate quotes, therefore strong communication and documentation skills are essential. This role is based in Christchurch but requires regular nationwide travel, including Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, and other regions as required. Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and supervise crime scene, trauma, biohazard, and meth decontamination jobs
  • Attend customer sites to conduct assessments and prepare detailed and accurate quotes
  • Plan job scopes and prepare safety plans, risk assessments, and related documentation
  • Lead, support, and supervise field teams to ensure high standards of service delivery
  • Manage staff rosters, monitor performance, and provide guidance and operational support
  • Ensure full compliance with WorkSafe NZ health and safety regulations and company procedures
  • Maintain accurate records of compliance, permits, quality assurance, and job documentation
  • Ensure staff are suitably equipped to carry out assigned tasks and projects
  • Order and manage chemicals, equipment, and cleaning supplies
  • Liaise professionally with clients regarding service requirements, scheduling, and feedback
  • Prepare reports, job documentation, and operational updates
  • Assist with scheduling, purchasing, workflow management, and general operational support
  • Support senior management with reporting and other operational requirements
  • Assist with HR-related functions, including recruitment, onboarding, and employee records
  • Support day-to-day accounts and bookkeeping tasks where required

Qualifications and Skills Essential Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in office management, administration, customer service, or operations OR Level 7 degree or higher in Business, Management, Administration, or a related field
  • Proven prior experience in the forensic or specialist cleaning industry - crime scene cleaning, trauma cleaning, biohazard remediation, or methamphetamine decontamination (mandatory)
  • Strong understanding of New Zealand health and safety regulations and compliance requirements
  • Previous supervisory or team leadership experience
  • Ability and willingness to travel nationwide (Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch)
  • Full New Zealand Driver Licence
  • Confidence in independently conducting site visits and preparing quotes
  • Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills
  • Ability to work well under pressure and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
