We are a family-owned Thai/Asian restaurant based in Pt Chevalier, dedicated to delivering exceptional food and outstanding service to our customers. We are seeking 2 experienced Thai chefs/cooks who are passionate about their craft, have a positive attitude, and possess strong communication skills to join our team.Qualifications & Experience:
- At least 4 years experience of working in a professional Thai/Asian kitchen
- Understanding of New Zealand food safety regulations and the Food Template Plan
- Comprehensive knowledge of Thai cuisine, flavors, and ingredients
- A formal culinary training / culinary degree will be beneficial, but not essential
Tasks & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the owner to plan menus, develop new dishes, and create recipes.
- Oversee the quality of food throughout all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes, including sauces, soups, and other ingredients.
- Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and sanitation standards.
- Store, freeze, and preserve food items appropriately to maintain quality and freshness.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient kitchen environment, including all equipment and work areas.
- Monitor inventory levels, manage stock rotation, and order food supplies as required.
- Train, mentor, and provide support to junior chefs and kitchen staff.
Work hours are varied between 30 - 40 hours per week. We offer a pay range of $28 - $32 based on qualifications and experience.Pay: $28.00 – $32.00 per hourBenefits:
