The service provides a combination of inpatient, outpatient and community services to our patients in the Otago catchment area. There are also opportunities to run clinics and undertake simple surgery in other Otago centres such as Queenstown, Alexandra, and Oamaru.The role includes a 1:4 on call roster with our existing Urologists and collaboration with a senior Urology Trainee, two non-training junior doctors, and a senior, experienced Specialist Urology Nursing team. Dunedin Hospital’s urology service has 24-hour interventional radiology support, access to full ICU and HDU facilities, and close support from oncology and nephrology departments.Dunedin Hospital has a strong partnership with the University of Otago, and part of the role includes teaching and training medical students. There is also an opportunity for academic FTE for the right candidate by expression of interest.There is a clinical focus on urology oncology, endourology (stones), laparoscopic procedures, and management of BPE and LUTS.The role responsibilities include the following:

• Providing high-quality patient-centred care
• Shared responsibility for the day-to-day management of the service and participation in strategic planning
• Teaching and training within the multidisciplinary service
• Active involvement in multidisciplinary team meetings and directorate clinical governance activity
• Active participation in continuing medical education
