The Opportunity
An opportunity is available for a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist ready to embrace a role that blends professional excellence with lifestyle pleasure. This position offers the chance to work at scale within a major tertiary service while enjoying warmth, light, and coastal living.
You will deliver anaesthetic care across a wide range of elective and emergency services and contribute to leadership within a specialist multidisciplinary team.
The Hospital
This is a large tertiary health service with over 800 beds operating across multiple hospital sites. Services include emergency medicine, intensive care, and a wide range of surgical specialties supporting a high-acuity peri-operative workload.
The anaesthetic department is well established, with strong consultant leadership, teaching programs, and a secure, supportive culture.
The Location
The role is based in a coastal metropolitan region known for sunshine, beaches, and an active outdoor lifestyle. Life outside work feels bright, fresh, and balanced, with easy access to natural and urban environments.

The Requirements
Applicants will meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Hold or be eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA
- Have at least 12 months recent experience working as an Anaesthetist
- Be on the ANZCA training program and approaching Fellowship
- Hold Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)
- International Medical Graduates eligible for recognised ANZCA pathways, including Competent Authority jurisdictions
- International Medical Graduates with a confirmed ANZCA interview date
- International Medical Graduates already assessed by ANZCA and found to be substantially comparable
