The chef is responsible for planning and preparing high-quality dishes, ensuring consistency in food presentation and taste, and maintaining an organized, clean and efficient kitchen. the role involves leadership, creativity and a commitment to culinary excellence while adhering to food safety standards.
-KEY RESPONSIBILITIES- 1. FOOD PREPERATION & COOKING:- Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and restaurant standards.
- Ensure all dishes are presented attractively and taste consistently.
2. MENU DEVELOPMENT - Collaborate with the Sous Chef to design menus that align with the restaurants concept.
- Adapt dishes to seasonal ingredients or customer preferences.
3. KITCHEN MANAGEMENT- Oversee kitchen operations, ensuring efficient workflow and communication.
- Train and supervise junior staff or apprentices.
4. INVENTORY & COST CONTROL:- Monitor stock levels and order ingredients as needed.
- Minimize waste and manage food costs effectively.
5. COMPLIANCE AND SAFETY- Adhere to health and safety regulations and food hygiene standards.
- Conduct regular checks on kitchen equipment to ensure functionality and safety.
6. CUSTOMER SATISFACTION- Ensure dishes meet customer expectations for quality, taste and presentation.
- Respond to feedback constructively to improve operations.
-QUALIFICATIONS- 1. EXPERIENCE- Proven experience in a professional kitchen (e.g.: sous chef, line cook, ect.)
- Specialization in [specific cuisine, if applicable] is a plus.
2. SKILLS- Proficiency in various cooking techniques and knowledge of flavor profiles
- Strong leadership, organizational and multitasking skills.
3. EDUCATION- Culinary degree or equivalent certification preferred.
