Job Summary An exciting opportunity has arisen at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust for an enthusiastic and experienced Finance Business Partner to join the Management Accounts Team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the provision of high‑quality financial management advice and support to the managers and clinicians in a large Divisional Network. The post holder will have an excellent understanding of the NHS finance regime, along with strong technical and leadership skills to help the Trust deliver its financial plan.
You will need excellent communication and leadership skills and a real commitment to excellent service delivery, being creative and innovative with the desire and ability to propose changes to working practices and procedures.Responsibilities• Lead the divisional finance team, ensuring that monthly detailed financial performance reports are produced on time, accurate and meet the needs of Trust Board Members and the
Senior Management Team.
• Provide expert finance advice and guidance to divisional colleagues and jointly manage divisional performance with other Finance Business Partners.
• Support improvements in systems and processes to improve the speed and accuracy of reporting,
financial analysis and planning and internal controls.
• Deliver
effective communication and demonstrate strong interpersonal, staff management and negotiating skills.
• Produce reports on the financial plans and performance of a large Clinical Network.Qualifications & Experience
Essential qualifications - CCAB Accountancy Qualification.
- Evidence of continuing professional development.
Essential experience - Expertise in the key accounting areas, NHS financial legislation, key computer systems such as financial ledgers and provision of specialist financial advice on revenue and capital matters.
- Experience managing a finance team, including coaching, training, recruitment, appraisal and disciplinary/absence management.
- Knowledge of human‑resource techniques for staff development and performance maximisation.
- Creative and innovative with a track record of proposing effective changes to working practices.
Desirable experience - Track record of stakeholder engagement.
- Experience at senior finance level in the NHS or public healthcare industry.
Desirable knowledge - Business cases, financial assessments, recovery plans and delivery of AVP/CIP.
- Appreciation of the NHS financial regime and thorough understanding of NHS targets.
