Bunbury Hospital Redevelopment Project is Western Australia's biggest ever regional hospital upgrade. Once complete, it will be a modern community healthcare hub for the Southwest region. The redevelopment project will deliver:
  • Construction of a new seven-storey clinical tower and helideck
  • A dedicated new mental health observation unit
  • An expanded acute psychiatric unit
  • A significantly expanded emergency department
  • Additional operating theatres and a new central sterilisation department
  • New and expanded maternity, birthing, and neonatal services
  • Increased inpatient ward capacity
  • WA’s first regional healthcare training, education, and research centre

The project also includes expansion and refurbishment of main entry plus additional short‑term parking. Construction of the tower and main works is expected to be completed in early-2028, with operational commissioning complete in mid-2028.
