Carpenter

The Carpenter uses power tools and machinery to erect metal structures. Main responsibilities and duties include:· Studying drawings and specifications to determine materials required, dimensions and installation procedures· Ordering and selecting materials, and preparing layouts· Accurately follow details of construction requirements from design drawings and oral instruction· Assist with site measure-ups · Precisely measure and prepare site using heavy machinery and hand tools to dig and level building pads· Use hand and power tools (grinding, drilling, screwing, nailing, welding, etc) to cut and assemble materials, erect, sheet/roof and modify building materials · Operate elevated work platforms (EWP's) to lift and assemble building materials· Undertake concrete work for footings and slabs· Install tank as per instructions · Clean up job sites · General labouring duties· Detect faulty operation of equipment and/or defective materials or products and notify supervisors· Other duties as required SKILLS & EXPERIENCE: Qualifications: · 2 years previous experience in a similar role/industry· Certificate III in Carpentry· Valid C Class drivers licence, LR or HR class licence advantageous· Valid High Risk Licence – LF, WP · Construction Industry Induction card Skills and Requirements: · Physically fit with good hearing, vision, strength, good coordination and manual dexterity· Flexible and cooperative team attitude· Ability to work in a team and independently· Organised and able to meet deadlines · Patience and accuracy· Safety conscious· Power tool use and knowledge· Ability to work at heightsJob Types: Full-time, Permanent, SubcontractPay: $85,500.00 – $105,577.81 per yearBenefits:
