Software Developer - Spark New Zealand About the RoleSpark New Zealand is seeking a talented Software Developer to design, build, and maintain applications that support telecommunications, cloud, digital, and customer service platforms. Working within Agile teams, you will help deliver innovative solutions used by millions of customers across New Zealand. Key Responsibilities: Software DevelopmentDesign, develop, test, and maintain software applications.Write clean, secure, and maintainable code.Develop APIs, backend services, and customer-facing digital solutions.Contribute to system enhancements and new product development. Cloud & Platform EngineeringWork with cloud platforms such as AWS and Azure.Support development of cloud-native applications and microservices.Assist with deployment automation and system reliability improvements.Help optimise application performance and scalability. Testing & Quality AssurancePerform unit, integration, and system testing.Troubleshoot and resolve software defects.Participate in code reviews and quality improvement initiatives.Ensure applications meet security and performance standards. Agile Team CollaborationWork closely with Product Owners, Architects, QA Engineers, and DevOps teams.Participate in sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.Contribute to technical design discussions and continuous improvement activities. About YouBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, IT, or a related field.Experience with software development methodologies and best practices.Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C#, JavaScript/TypeScript, or Python.Understanding of databases, APIs, and software architecture.Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills. DesirableExperience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms.Knowledge of DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.Exposure to telecommunications or large-scale enterprise systems.
