The business operates across domestic and international markets, supplying major retailers and managing multi-channel sales including wholesale and direct-to-consumer operations. Position Summary:The Accountant is responsible for managing the organisation's financial reporting, taxation compliance, and financial analysis functions. The role supports wholesale operations, inventory management, and international transactions, ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and providing strategic financial insights to management.This role is suited to a qualified Accountant with strong technical expertise and commercial awareness, particularly within inventory-driven or wholesale environments. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, compliant-focused, and capable of supporting financial operations in a dynamic, internationally focused fashion business.Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Preparing and presenting financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports
  • Analysing financial information and preparing financial reports to support business decision-making
  • Developing and managing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans in line with seasonal production cycles
  • Maintaining and administering accounting systems, including general ledger, accounts payable, and receivable
  • Ensuring compliance with Australian Accounting Standards and relevant statutory requirements
  • Preparing and lodging taxation returns, including BAS, GST, and corporate tax obligations
  • Monitoring cash flow, expenditure, and financial performance across wholesale and retail operations
  • Conducting financial investigations and advising on cost control, pricing, and profitability
  • Managing inventory accounting, including stock valuation and cost of goods sold (COGS)
  • Supporting external audits and liaising with auditors, financial institutions, and regulatory authorities
  • Evaluating financial risks and implementing internal control systems to safeguard company assets

Applicants must hold a Bachelor's degree (or higher) in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and be a member of or working towards membership with a recognised professional body such as CPA, CA ANZ, or IPA. They must also have at least one year of relevant experience working as an Accountant.Applicants will also need:
  • Experience in financial reporting, taxation, and compliance
  • Experience in a commercial environment, preferably in retail, wholesale, or inventory-based businesses
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Accounting Standards and taxation legislation
  • Experience with accounting software (e.g., Xero, MYOB, NetSuite or similar ERP systems)
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and financial analysis skills
  • High level of analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to present financial information to non-financial stakeholders
  • Must meet the requirements for nomination under the Temporary Skill Shortage (Subclass 482) visa
  • Full-time availability and commitment to the role
