ASR Food Services Pty Ltd trading as Penrith Rashays in Penrith / Jamisontown NSW is seeking a full-time experienced Chef with the right attitude and passion for working with food with at least 3 years of relevant experience and a minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience. Salary of $75,000 to $85,000 + super for this full-time position depending on the experience and ability.Reporting to the Managing Director, you will undergo the following responsibilities and tasks.
Responsibilities: - Daily management of kitchen including prep, stock rotation, managing order lists, checking deliveries
- Menu planning / selection and estimating food for special events, party, functions and group bookings.
- Encouraged to create specials using excess stock to keep customers interested and minimize waste
- Track inventory levels, placing orders for ingredients and supplies as necessary.
- Examine the food and supplies to ensure quality.
- Prepare and cook food as per menu and recipes.
- Hire, train and manage all kitchen staff, including employee development, issuing disciplinary action and conducting performance reviews.
- Prepared food items to meet recipes, portioning, dietary requirements, cooking and waste control guidelines.
- Participation in training activities and staff meetings.
- Keep informed of trends and changes in the hospitality industry.
- Regulate temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment.
- Manage kitchen staff and delegate tasks related to meal prep, cooking and delivering food to diners in a timely fashion.
- Follow and enforce workplace health & safety regulations, implement and be a leader of hygiene policies and examining equipment for cleanliness.
- When required – interact with customers to answer their questions.
Qualifications:- Minimum of a Diploma qualification or equivalent in substantial experience.
Experience Requirement:- At least 3 years of experience as a Chef required, including some experience as a Head Chef.
Essential Skills:- Ability to follow recipe to maintain consistency by preparing appealing dishes that cater to customer preferences.
- Excellent knowledge of all kitchen procedures and assist with all facets of kitchen operation
- Strong management skills to oversee kitchen staff and maintain order.
- Ability to teach new skills, techniques, and recipes to staff.
- Understanding of HACCP, local health regulations, and best practices.
- Ability to keep the kitchen running smoothly, ensuring all tasks are completed efficiently.
- Handling customer concerns or complaints with understanding and professionalism.
- Streamlining tasks to maximize output in minimal time without sacrificing quality.
- Remaining calm and effective during busy periods, especially during service.
- Quickly shifting between tasks, maintaining productivity without compromising quality.
