About the role: Applications are invited for a Senior Resident Medical Officer, Coronary Care at Canberra Hospital and Health Services commencing in August 2026 for a period of one year with possible extension. To be eligible for this position, the successful applicant will need to be Post Graduate Year 3 + at the time of application. Canberra Health Services (CHS) is focussed on the delivery of high quality, effective, person-centred care. It provides acute, sub-acute, primary and community‐based health services, to the Australian Capital Territory (ACT) and surrounding regions. More information can be found on the CHS website. Medical Staff in the Canberra Health Services enjoy excellent conditions, and our Enterprise Agreement is available at: ACTPS Medical Practitioners Enterprise Agreement 2023 – 2026 Working within the Cardiology Services, the CCU SRMO will participate in a 12-hour 4 day per week roster, with the support of the Basic Physician Trainee, Cardiology Registrar and on call Cardiology consultant. The Department of Cardiology at Canberra Hospital provides tertiary cardiology services to the ACT and Greater Southern NSW region. The department has 17 consultant cardiologists with four accredited Advanced Trainees, two unaccredited Trainees and three fellow positions. The Coronary Care Unit has 28 beds. The department has dedicated clinical cardiology programs in acute cardiovascular care, echocardiography, cardiac CT, interventional cardiology, structural cardiology, cardiac electrophysiology, adult congenital heart disease, heart failure and pulmonary hypertension. Prior to commencement, the successful candidates will be required to:
