Full-Time Chef – Nepal Ghar Restaurant & Bar Location: Hurstville, NSW
Employment Type: Full-Time About Us Nepal Ghar Restaurant & Bar is a well-established and growing restaurant specialising in authentic Nepalese cuisine. We are passionate about delivering high-quality food and exceptional customer experiences. We are currently looking for a dedicated, hardworking, and passionate Full-Time Chef who is looking for more than just a job—we're looking for someone who wants to grow with our business. About the Role As a Full-Time Chef, you will play a key role in our kitchen, preparing authentic Nepalese dishes while maintaining high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and consistency. You will work alongside a supportive team in a fast-paced environment and contribute to the continued success of the restaurant. Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook authentic Nepalese cuisine to a consistently high standard.
  • Assist in developing and refining menu items and seasonal specials.
  • Ensure food is prepared and presented according to recipes and restaurant standards.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic kitchen at all times.
  • Follow Food Safety Standards and WHS regulations.
  • Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering and stock rotation.
  • Minimise food waste and maintain portion control.
  • Work efficiently during busy service periods while maintaining quality.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when required.
  • Communicate effectively with the front-of-house and kitchen teams.
  • Assist with opening and closing kitchen procedures.

What We're Looking For
  • Previous experience working as a Chef in a busy commercial kitchen.
  • Experience preparing Nepalese cuisine is highly preferred.
  • Passion for cooking and maintaining high food quality standards.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen hygiene practices.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills.
  • Reliable, punctual, and a positive team player.
  • Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
  • Willingness to work until kitchen close when required.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Relevant Chef qualifications and/or equivalent industry experience.
  • Full Australian working rights.
