Planner to join our team at our Pyrmont Head Office.
As a
Planner, you’ll be at the heart of decision-making at Strand and you will play a crucial role in driving business success through insightful analysis and effective merchandise planning. Reporting to the Planning Manager for
Fashion, you’ll work closely with the Planning & Buying teams to build strategies that deliver on sales, margin and stock efficiency targets.
This role is made for someone who thrives on numbers, brings previous Planning experience at a medium to large high-volume retailer and knows how to turn insights into action. You'll join a collaborative, fast-paced team with plenty of opportunity to gain hands-on experience and develop your Planning career!
Visa Sponsorship potential for candidates who meet the relevant criteria. What You Will Be Doing - Analyse sales data and market trends to create seasonal category plans and identify growth opportunities
- Manage Open-to-Buy budgets and ensure stock levels, sales mix, pricing, and margins align with business goals
- Build strategic range plans with the right product assortment, using data and trend analysis to support buying decisions
- Prepare and maintain store grading plans across all channels, factoring in display capacity, demographics, and sales performance
- Monitor in-season trading and recommend pricing, markdowns, or promotional activity to optimise sales and margins
- Plan product allocations and replenishment based on forecasted sell-through and store profiles, including new store packages
- Coordinate the execution of promotional events and campaigns, ensuring timelines and launch objectives are met
- Provide clear reporting and insights to support cross-functional decision-making
- Attend weekly trade meetings, presenting performance highlights and actions to drive results
- Visit stores to provide support, gather feedback, and ensure alignment with planning and product strategies

Who You Are - Extensive Merchandise Planning experience in a fashion apparel or accessories retailer
- Strong retail and commercial acumen
- Strong analytical and numerical skills with high attention to detail
- Proven experience achieving sales, profit and margin goals
- Good understanding of trends within the industry
- Customer-centric focus
- Initiative to recognise and identify potential problems early and implement solutions
- Ability to build relationships and partner with stakeholders at all levels, with strong communication skills, both written and verbal
- Deadline-driven and results-focused
- Strong experience of best-in-class merchandise planning applications
- Advanced level Excel skills
