Guaranteed Hours: Minimum 30 hours per week (rostered up to 40 hours)

We are seeking an experienced Barista responsible for coffee preparation, quality control, and maintaining an efficient coffee workflow during service. This role requires strong technical expertise in espresso extraction, milk texturing, and consistency in a fast-paced environment. Key Responsibilities:

• Preparing espresso-based coffee to a high and consistent standard
• Dialling in espresso, adjusting grind size, dose, and yield to maintain optimal extraction
• Texturing milk and producing latte art to a professional standard
• Monitoring shot quality and troubleshooting extraction issues during service
• Managing coffee workflow and maintaining speed and consistency during peak periods
• Maintaining cleanliness and organisation of the coffee station and equipment
• Monitoring stock levels of beans, milk, and coffee-related supplies
• Providing customer service and handling POS/till transactions as required
• Adhering to food safety, hygiene, and health & safety standards

Requirements:

• Minimum 6 months of barista experience in a high-volume café
• Demonstrated knowledge of espresso extraction, grind adjustment, and milk texturing
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining quality
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Reliable, punctual, and able to work as part of a team
• Availability to work weekends and public holidays

• The pay rate is aligned with the New Zealand market rate for skilled barista roles
