We have an exciting opportunity for a Digital Transformation Manager to join our Digital Publishing Production Team, based in Learning Operations, who are at the heart of delivering the latest digital learning products for English language learners of all ages world-wide.

The role combines operations and technical communication, problem solving skills and the ability to change contexts frequently from both wider impact and end goals to specific details in complex and complicated environments. The main attributes of this role are influencing ways of working, logical thinking, driving continuous improvement and communicating through a wide range of channels to a variety of stakeholders.

About The Role

The Digital Transformation Manager will work in the Learning Operations area of English at Cambridge University Press and Assessment. Amongst other areas, the successful candidate will have primary responsibility for supporting a business sector within English with their digital publishing requirements and will provide an escalation point for questions and queries related to digital publishing.

The successful candidate will create, own and improve key business processes that enable the creation of digital products in a publishing environment. Continuous improvement is at the heart of managing these processes. Part of being responsible for business processes also means problem solving and communicating, listening, and influencing people from different functions, backgrounds and technical levels who may be located around the world.

A Digital Transformation Manager will play a key role in managing digital production of products ensuring all relevant stakeholders are supported with a high level of understanding to plan and make decisions across a portfolio of projects. They will be consulted as a key stakeholder on the overall digital production strategy considering several factors such as product types, platforms and tools from early planning right through to implementation, and delivery. The DTM will also provide support for the tools and platforms that support publishing digital products.

An important part of this role is to act as an efficient ‘bridge' between technology teams and production teams. The DTM will manage the implementation of new technology into digital production ensuring a smooth transition for processes, projects, and programmes.

This position has been classified as a hybrid role, requiring the selected candidate to typically spend 40-60% of their time collaborating and connecting face-to-face at their dedicated location. Aside from our hybrid principles, other flexible working requests will be considered from the first day of employment, including other work arrangements should you require adjustments due to a disability or long-term health condition.

About You

The successful candidate will be a proactive, self-starting individual with demonstrable experience identifying opportunities for improvement and independently driving digital projects or process enhancements from concept through to implementation. They will be confident operating in fast-paced, project-based environments, working across business and technology stakeholders, and translating complex requirements for different audiences.

They must show evidence of influencing and improving business or technical processes, leading or contributing to change initiatives in environments with ambiguity, and applying appropriate project delivery methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall). Experience working closely with technology teams, implementing new tools or ways of working into live environments, and using data or workflow analysis to inform scalable solutions is essential. Strong prioritisation, clear communication, and the ability to learn, optimise and evolve digital workflows and tools are critical for success in this role.

If you meet the above minimum requirements, we encourage you to apply. Your application will be even stronger if you can also demonstrate the following desirable criteria:
  • Experience within digital publishing, EdTech, or digital learning platforms.
