Job Description:
Overview The University of Northampton is looking for an NMC registered midwife with clinical and educational experience to join our enthusiastic team and contribute to the delivery of education and research as a member of the School of Nursing and Midwifery. The full-time permanent post will include teaching and assessing on our pre-registration programme and supporting our students pastorally and whilst on placement.

Interview date: 12 November 2025. We want you to be able to carry out your work in a way that best supports UON and our students, but also you as an individual. With Smarter Working you can work with increased flexibility, if you would like to, which can facilitate greater freedom and autonomy in agreement with your line manager. However, the expectation is a commitment to be on site for all face to face teaching with at least 3 days a week on campus.

You will be joining a team which is committed to your professional development and support you as an educator. You must be registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council, be educated to BSc level with evidence of active continuing professional development.Qualifications
  • Essential:
  • Degree qualification or equivalent in relevant subject
  • NMC registered Midwife
  • Professional Recognition as HEA Fellow (D2) or teaching qualification recognised by HESA, or willingness to obtain within an agreed timescale
  • Desirable:
  • Master’s degree in relevant subject
  • Doctorate in relevant subject, completed or within 12 months of completion
