Location - London or Winchester Hybrid working - MINIMUM of 2 days per week (40%) in office with Tuesday as the team day We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Consultant with a proven track record in medical writing to join our team and play a key role in growing our medical writing offering. You will need to have experience in writing and managing the development of a wide variety of value communication deliverables, including but not limited to Global Value Dossiers (GVDs), payer formulary packs, HTA submissions, white papers, data visualisation tools, medical education, training materials, and HEOR/ RWE focused manuscripts. Who are we and what do we do? In 2020 LCP launched our Heath Analytics practice, providing analytical and research services for organisations across the life sciences and healthcare industries. Our team brings together scientists, HEOR experts, market access specialists, epidemiologists, clinicians, and health data specialists alongside our established actuarial, analytics and technology teams to deliver new solutions for the fundamental challenges in health. Over the past five years we have built a track record for leading approaches to real world evidence generation, health economic modelling, literature reviews and statistical analysis, market access strategy and innovative reimbursement design, including support in the development of Health Technology Assessment (HTA) submissions and development of compelling value communications. We have been growing the team quickly in response to the demand we are seeing for the service offerings we have developed and now have a team of over 50 people working across three service areas of evidence generation, HEOR, and market access. Our team’s mission is to help move health systems from importers of illness to exporters of health and to support our clients to deliver value to patients. This is underpinned by our approach to support clients to improve the population’s health and reduce inequalities.
What will you be doing? LCP’s Health Analytics team works across the healthcare and life sciences markets, combining health expertise with innovative approaches from our work in other sectors to tackle leading health issues. Examples of the types of projects that this role will cover include:
- Development of GVDs and other similar documents i.e. early value dossiers, AMCP and other formulary access tools (including payer value decks and HEOR/ access toolkits), payer value propositions/ messages and objection handlers
- HTA dossier development and submission management with a focus on the UK and Ireland (NICE / SMC / AWMSG / NCPE)
- JCA submission dossier development
- Literature review and statistical analysis reports
- Publications including posters, abstracts and manuscripts
- Development of data visualisation/ infographic type deliverables
- Conference, advisory board and other similar reports
Your key responsibilities will be to: - Act as lead writer in the delivery of high-quality content which is fully referenced and reflective of the evidence base, and which is tailored to the target audience in terms of its content and style
- Lead HEOR and market access focused medical writing projects as required, including coordination and project management of internal delivery teams alongside client-facing coordination of projects
- Develop Health Analytics team “house style” and similar editorial standards, processes and templates
- People responsibilities including the line management and development of junior members of the team, depending on your experience and interests
What skills, qualities and experience do you need to be considered? - Demonstrable, proven experience as a medical writer in a consultancy environment, to include preparing HTA submissions and other HEOR and market access focused medical writing projects (including but not limited to; GVDs, early value dossiers, AMCP and other formulary access tools, manuscripts, conference presentations, payer value propositions/ messages and objection handlers)
- Demonstrable experience in scientific/ medical writing across a broad range of Market Access/ HEOR communication materials is a core required competence
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills and be highly competent in the use of Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and relevant reference management software (i.e. Mendeley, Endnote or similar)
- Ability to develop search strategies and run literature review using widely available scientific/ medical literature tools and databases (i.e., PubMed, EMBASE, Ovid, Google Scholar etc.) is desirable
- Experience in developing house styles and editorial standards along with demonstrable experience in working in visual, MS PowerPoint and prose-based, MS Word and similar formats is required
- Experience leading the preparation of client-facing presentations and reports, effectively communicating complex concepts to diverse audiences
- Ability to conduct and guide others in targeted secondary research utilising a wide variety of sources to address specific research questions
- Comfortable leading on day-to-day project activities and managing the workload of others
- You should be comfortable engaging in a variety of project types across HTA, market access and HEOR (appropriate support will always be provided)
- Experience in business development activities, including proposal writing and pitch presentations, is highly desirable
- Ability to demonstrate initiative in every aspect of your work and be creative in developing original solutions to problems
