The opportunity Associated Engineering, a proudly Canadian, Employee-owned Company is seeking an experienced and dedicated Temporary Full-time Accounting Clerk - Accounts Payable (until May 2027) to join our team in our Downtown Edmonton office. In this role the successful candidate will be responsible for processing and recording vendor invoices, verifying employee expenses, and ensuring timely and accurate payment of company payables. There is the possibility that this position does become permanent when the term is completed.

Job Requirements What you'll do: - Verifying the accuracy of invoices and other accounting documents or records.
- Ensuring appropriate approvals for incoming invoices and expense reports.
- Coding and entering invoice data into our defined ERP system.
- Reviewing data entered into our ERP system for accuracy.
- Updating and maintaining accounting journals, ledgers and other records detailing financial business transactions (e.g., disbursements, expense vouchers, receipts, accounts payable).
- Preparing and performing payment runs for both cheque and EFT payments.
- Setting up and maintaining vendor master files within our database.
- Responding to vendor inquiries and performing any follow up required.
- Assisting with month-end closing procedures.
- Communicating with a variety of stakeholders to ensure proper approvals for all invoices.
Does this sound like you? - A Diploma in Business Administration or Accounting from an accredited technical institute.
- Previous experience in a similar role in the engineering or construction industry
- Minimum of 2 years of Accounts Payable experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook and other office software.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Highly detail oriented and accurate.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Ability to multi-task and work with deadlines.
