Who are we? WRAP is a global environmental action NGO championing the shift towards a circular economy, fundamentally reshaping how we produce, consume, and manage resources. Our vision is a world transformed, in which Circular Living is commonplace. Where the systems that provide our everyday goods contribute to the world's prosperity and sustainability instead of reducing it.
WRAP is driving Circular Living through four key areas: accelerating the circular economy, future-proofing food, preventing problem plastics and transforming textiles. We catalyse action from policy makers, businesses, NGOs and citizens to make it happen.
We have offices in the UK, USA and Australia, and live projects in over 30 countries.
Join us at WRAP and you'll drive important change to make Circular Living the norm.
The role We’re entering an exciting new phase at WRAP as we look to further grow the impact of our work on food waste both in the UK and globally. As a Senior Specialist, you will be a leader in our global (UK-based) Food Waste team, leading key work on UK projects as well as our global work to drive change and reduce food waste across the food system. You will work directly with the global Food Waste Programme Lead to develop innovative and successful strategies that deliver food waste reductions in the food system, working directly with business, governments and other key stakeholders.
Who are we looking for? This is an exciting role and we’re looking for a go-getter who brings significant relevant technical sustainability knowledge, ideally combined with leadership experience in business, consulting or with similar NGOs. Essential experience includes:
- Technical leadership on food waste and loss, especially the drivers and impacts of food waste across the value chain.
- Expert knowledge of the food supply chain developed through a combination of education (i.e., degree) and relevant industry/sector work experience or significant experience in the sector developed through working at industry or/and consultancy.
- Demonstrable experience driving change in the food industry working at a senior level especially with manufacturers and primary producers, and with policy makers.
- Strong engagement and collaboration skills, evidencing experience working with external stakeholders including businesses and other partners including NGOs and trade associations.
- Experience in line management and managing project teams across multiple projects.
- A proven track record in leading successful business development and funding opportunities.
- A proven track record of delivering multiple projects on time and on budget.
Ready to lead the way to circular living? If you think you have what it takes but your experience looks different to what is advertised, please still apply. We welcome applications from everyone regardless of your age, race, gender, neurodiversity, ability, beliefs, sexuality, or personal preferences.
We want to help you be your best, so please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustments during the recruitment process.
