Job Description:
OverviewRubik is looking for Former H2Bs Line Cooks! As Line Cooks you will prepare food to the exact chefs' specifications and to set up stations for the menu. You will be responsible for preparation of cooking ingredients according to recipes and specifications as well as assisting with other kitchen duties.Important: This position is restricted only to candidates who have previously held an H-2B visa.Responsibilities of the Line Cooks This includes, but is not limited to, the following:• Set up and stock stations with all necessary supplies.• Prepare food for service (e.g., chopping vegetables, butchering meat, or preparing sauces).• Cook menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.• Answer, report and follow the executive or sous chefs instructions.• Clean up the station and take care of leftover food.• Wash dishes and other utensils.• Stock inventory appropriately.• Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.• Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.• Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.• Follow prep lists created by chefs to plan duties, which could include basic kitchen tasks such as: measuring ingredients to be used in recipes, washing, and chopping produce, mixing sauces, parboiling food, and ensuring the quality of cooked/prepared food by testing them.• You will be responsible for the detection and disposal of spoiled foods that do not meet the company's standards.• Promote a safe culture in all areas of the workplace, including food safety, customer safety, and the safety of team members.Requirements of the Line Cooks • Previously held an H-2B visa before.• Proven cooking experience as a Cook, Prep Cook or Kitchen Helper• Excellent understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment and procedures.• Bilingual; must have advanced English skills (C1)• Be a Honduran citizen within Honduran territory during the hiring process.• Over 21 years old.• Valid Passport (for at least 12 months before its expiration)• Not holding an overextended stay with a tourist visa.• Not having an illegal immigration record in the US.• No criminal record and must present certificate proof (Constancia de Antecedentes Penales).
