Job Description:
Wynyard Grill (wynyardgrill.co.nz) is looking for a full-time restaurant manager to join our incredible team and award winning restaurant. We are located in the Auckland CBD (Wynyard Quarter by the Viaduct Harbour)We are a fun and hard working crew. Hours will focus on weekends but will be five days a week, various shifts Monday to Sunday, normally 2/4pm-10pm or 11am-8pm for 30 to 40 hours per week.Competitive salary based on experience level, shared tips based on hours worked (around $200 per month per person), monthly bonuses for meeting targets, 50% discounts for staff, family and partners, free drinks and meals on busy nights.Minimum 3 years hospitality experience required (overseas experience accepted with reference).Duty manager certificate and Licence Controller Qualification (LCQ) are also required.Summary of job duties1) Serve customers in the bar area in accordance with the protocol set forth in the Sale and Supply of Alcohol Act 20122) Create weekly rosters in line with given budgets3) Assist in creation of menus that are of the highest quality and standard, within provided budgets and margins4) Communicate with vendors regularly to obtain optimum product pricing and place orders for the restaurant5) Put away deliveries and check against invoices, compile invoices and verify against weekly and monthly statements6) Complete monthly stocktake reports and detailed reports on weekly, monthly and annual revenues/expenses7) Control operational costs and identify measures to cut waste8) Greet guests upon arrival and check on them throughout their dining experience9) Ask for and communicate regularly with other staff to provide feedback from customers and staff, and work with head chef to constantly improve product quality10) Hire and train new and current employees on proper customer service practices11) Perform monthly staff reviews for all staff members12) Keep a clean working area and ensure that all equipment, surface areas, floors and bar appliances are tidy, sanitary and in like new condition13) Supervise and assist kitchen staff on the pass and floor staff serving customers and ensure guests are served in accordance to the highest standard of care14) Complete daily incident report and advise owner of any issues or problems with deliveries, equipment, customers, or staff15) Take reservations, respond to online booking requests and organize group functions, including venue organization, menu planning, and pricing16) Promote the brand in the local community through word-of-mouth and events, and recommend ways to reach a broader audience (social media posts, deals, offers)17) Meet regularly with owner to discuss state of operations and to create and complete daily and weekly checklistsEmail CV to eat@wynyardgrill.co.nzJob Type: Full-timePay: $30.00 – $36.00 per hourBenefits:
